Paper recycling plant fire damages surrounding structures

A fire the weekend of July 25-26, 2015, at the Fiber Management of Texas plant in Rio Grande City, Texas, caused considerable damage to the recycling plant and also spread to nearby structures.

A report in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram said the fire started early Saturday morning, July 25, and “continued to burn” into Sunday. That report also says the fire “forced the evacuation of several nearby homes.

Another news report in the Valley Star of Harlingen, Texas, indicates has one nearby home described as “a total loss” while another suffered minor damage.
