Leigh Fibers Inc., a South Carolina-based fiber and polymer reprocessing, manufacturing  and trading firm, has hired Yuhong “Amy” Li with the goal of augmenting its international trading services.

Li has more than 20 years of experience in importing and exporting along with 10 years of experience in product and raw material sourcing and purchasing. She has been employed by Industrial Fiber Sales International Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia, managing synthetic raw materials sourcing and purchasing in the Asia-Pacific region. In that role she also managed plastic scrap and textile waste from the sourcing of supplies through to final sales.

Li has a degree in international business from South China University in Guangzhou, China, and is proficient in spoken and written English, Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese, according to a Leigh Fibers news release.

Leigh Fibers, based in Wellford, South Carolina, near Spartanburg, is a nearly 100-year-old firm that reprocesses, makes and trades fibers and polymers in 25 countries around the world. The company says it uses sustainable product engineering to create branded products and specialty fibers that “have provided many industries with unique solutions to their specific problems.” Leigh Fibers says in its history it has diverted more than 7 million tons of textile waste and byproducts from landfills.
