Electronic Recyclers International earns NAID AAA Certification
<![CDATA[

Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), Fresno, California, has announced that it has achieved NAID AAA Certification for data destruction at its flagship Fresno facility from the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), Phoenix.

NAID is an international professional organization that sets the industry standard for responsible data destruction. Its certification program, with standards and practices that are recognized globally, was created through the combined efforts of the industry’s leading information security professionals.

“We are extremely proud to have received AAA certification from NAID for our Fresno operations,” says John S. Shegerian, chairman and CEO of ERI.

He continues, “Not only has ERI met the strictest standards of environmental and operational excellence, we have now also reconfirmed our ongoing commitment to data destruction, as assessed by the planet’s leading authorities on the subject. With current technological innovations, there is very fast turnover when it comes to business and private computers, laptops, cellphones and other consumer electronic devices. Proper destruction of private digital data has become a crucially important issue. NAID certification shows we are at the forefront of that issue.”

Shegerian says data security always has been a priority at ERI and NAID AAA Certification that all ERI locations are presently undergoing, starting with the flagship Fresno location, will be the third certification standard achieved by the company and an effective way of demonstrating that longstanding commitment

“Secure data destruction is a huge and still growing concern today for businesses and consumers and they want to know their private information is completely secure,” says NAID CEO Bob Johnson. “All NAID certified data destruction organizations are subject to scheduled and unannounced audits to ensure that the strictest security standards for the destruction process are in place. Using a NAID AAA-certified provider such as ERI means you have used the necessary steps required under all regulatory guidelines to protect sensitive data for your clients, customers and patients.”

More information on ERI is availble at www.electronicrecyclers.com, www.recyclenation.com, http://greenisgoodradio.com or www.urbanmining.org.

ERI says it is the nation’s leading recycler of electronic scrap and the world’s largest cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company. ERI processes more than 275 million pounds of electronic scrap annually at eight locations, serving every ZIP code in the United States.
