Cowin Equipment Company Inc., based in Birmingham, Alabama, is now an authorized distributor of Fuchs material handlers for the state of Alabama, northern Georgia and Florida’s northern panhandle. Cowin Equipment will cover the territory with seven locations.
Terex Fuchs, with its United States headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, says Cowin “offers unsurpassed sales, rental, parts and service support for the full Fuchs equipment line, [which is] purpose-built to increase operating efficiencies for the portside, scrap, recycling, waste and logging markets.”
Adds Mike Smith, regional sales manager for Fuchs, “Cowin Equipment is an integral part of this market, providing equipment solutions to its customers for more than 75 years The company’s extensive pedigree with steel mills and scrap yards will help increase coverage to our core market base, and the material handlers will give Cowin more equipment solutions to help boost operating efficiencies with their existing logging and port customers.”
The Cowin management team says Fuchs handlers “are the perfect complement to our existing lines of generators, shears, magnets and wheel loaders already offered to our customers.”
Cowin will also have at its disposal financing options offered by Terex Financial Services (TFS) designed to help improve the cash flow of customers.
Cowin Equipment, founded in 1938, is family-owned and says it employs a “hybrid” strategy of equal emphasis on sales and rental, “combined with a total commitment to product support to ensure customers get the most from their equipment.” The company offers local support for its Alabama customers from its Birmingham headquarters and four branch locations in Mobile, Montgomery, Huntsville and Oxford, Alabama. Cowin Equipment also operates branch locations in Pensacola, Florida, and Atlanta.
