The city council of Garner, Iowa, has voted to retain Absolute Waste Removal, Clear Lake, Iowa, as its waste and recycling collection contractor for a three-year period.

An online report by KIOW Radio says the city has had “really no issues” with Absolute and that “residents of Garner have one of the highest per capita participation in recycling.”

As well, Absolute presented the low bid to the Garner City Council, at slightly more than $10,000, which was less than a $13,000 bid made by Waste Management Inc.

In Garner, a town of about 3,100 people in north central Iowa, residents can leave loose paper and yard waste in a set of rolloff dumpsters cited at a central location in the town.
