Tekserve, a leading provider of technology solutions for creative professionals based in New York, has announced its next e-scrap collection event in New York will be Saturday, April 30, 2016. The free event, co-hosted by the Lower East Side Ecology Center (Ecology Center), will take place at the Tekserve retail store in Chelsea at 119 W. 23rd St. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“In January, we kicked off our ninth year of partnering with the Ecology Center for this important ongoing program for New Yorkers and we’re thrilled to be able to co-host another event,” says Albert Garcia, Tekserve retail director. “With spring finally in the air, it is time to gather up the old technology piling up in closets and drawers and to get them recycled properly. We are proud to be an ongoing partner with the Ecology Center and for our combined efforts to provide our community with the opportunity to safely, legally and conveniently recycle their electronics for free.”

Tekserve says it also will be rewarding participants with an opportunity to earn a special discount when shopping for a new Apple device, accessory or in-store service. At the e-waste event, Tekserve will offer coupons featuring $10 off a $50 purchase or service at Tekserve or $20 off a $100 purchase or service to those participating in the e-waste event. In addition, attendees also can receive an additional $5 off their purchases while redeeming their coupons if they show that they have checked in at Tekserve on Facebook or Yelp, according to the company.

Tekserve says while the e-scrap recycling drive is open to all unwanted electronics, Mac or PC (regardless if they were purchased at the Tekserve store or not), household appliances, such as microwaves and air conditioners, will not be accepted.

More information about the April 30 event and the 2016 lineup of e-scrap events, which serve all five New York City boroughs, is at http://events.tekserve.com/events/category/ewaste-recycling.

Since its inception in 1987, Tekserve says it has been dedicated to the service of its customers and the surrounding community. Tekserve provides a broad range of services, solutions and best-in-class products to support the technology needs of consumers and small businesses.

From its New York City retail location in Chelsea, Tekserve stocks a wide variety of Apple products, accessories, storage solutions and display devices, and says it is the leading Apple service and repair facility in New York City.
