The Watertown (New York) Daily Times reports that Lewis County received two bids to upgrade its recycling center Thursday, July 21, 2016.

Jordstat Construction, Alexandria Bay, New York, bid $293,348, while Oneida-based MJ Dakota Inc. bid $374,000, the article reports.

“This is pretty much what we expected, pricewise,” Lewis County Solid Waste Director Peter J. Wood told his legislative committee, according to the article.

Wood will review the bids with officials from Bernier, Carr and Associates, Watertown, the project designer, before making a contract recommendation. The vote is expected to occur at the Aug. 2 meeting of the full legislature.

The project includes modifications to the building and the installation of a compactor and 100-yard trailer for transporting recyclables. These upgrades should take roughly six weeks to complete, Wood told the newspaper.
