The Beaumont, Texas, City Council is considering a proposal to revive curbside recycling, according to an article in the Beaumont Enterprise

The proposal was raised at a council meeting Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, by city manager Kyle Hayes. The program would have a one-time cost of $58 for a bin, and a monthly fee of $11.50 for weekly pickup. If accepted, the program could be available as early as Oct. 1, the Enterprise reports.

The city canceled its previous program in July, which was provided by Houston-based Waste Management Inc., which had fewer than 600 subscribers at a monthly fee of $30.
