TranAct introduces free online scrap buying application

TranAct, St. Petersburg, Florida, and the Scrap Dragon development team have released a free online scrap buying application called Scrap Yard Dog, available at www.ScrapYardDog.com. This version is intended for small retailers and transaction limits apply, according to TranAct.

The Dragon/Dog version of Scrap Yard Dog automates transactions and pictures, with commodity, customer and Leads Online reporting, the company says.

“This product is free and will stay free,” says TranAct CEO Ken Gruber. “Scrap Yard Dog was built as a mobile application for Scrap Dragon customers.”

Scrap Yard Dog solves organizational issues for small scrap yards, redemption centers and peddlers who don’t need all the bells and whistles, the company says.

“We receive requests all the time from business owners who are too small to purchase Scrap Dragon,” the company says in a news release. “Now, if you own any electronic device, a financial investment is not required. Upgrade paths are available, but please enjoy this sleek interface and make sure to let us know how we can make it better.”

To start using Scrap Yard Dog, visit www.scrapyarddog.com, choose Scrap Dragon, complete a password/customer information page form and respond to an email with confirmation instructions. Scrap Yard Dog creates a new company, and you are ready to buy. A generic recycling commodity list is created that users can edit and add pricing to to fully customize. Users can interact with a touchscreen ticket entry interface on their phones, tablets and/or computers. Pictures and customer signatures can be recorded with mobile devices, and the tickets can print to PDF, completing a compliant point of purchase flow, TranAct says.

All data are private, secured and hosted by TranAct at its data center, the company adds.
