Master Magnets introduces track eddy current separator
<![CDATA[

U.K.-based Master Magnets Ltd. in conjunction with CRJ Services, also of the U.K., have developed an integrated eddy current separator (ECS) mounted on a track chassis for the dual purpose of separating ferrous and nonferrous metals with one machine, according to the Magnetics Division of Global Equipment Marketing Inc., Boca Raton, Florida, which serves as the U.S. distributor.

The machine comes equipped with a variable speed vibratory feeder, providing a steady stream of feedstock for optimum separation, Global Equipment Marketing says. This is followed by a rare earth drum magnet for ferrous metal separation that is fully integrated with chutes and framework into an 60-inch-wide ECS for separating nonferrous metals. Each of the separated materials—ferrous metals, nonferrous metals and residual nonmetallic material, have separate conveyor systems with chevron belts for separation of stockpiles, the vendor says.

The entire machine is on an 11-foot tracked chassis with 16-inch-wide pad crawler tracks. Power is supplied with onboard 65-kilovolt-amperes generator and 22-kilowatt electric/hydraulic power pack for tracking and folding/unfolding conveyors. The unit is controlled using a control panel and push-button operation. For safety, the machine comes equipped with an e-stop system and a Firetech fire suppression system, Global Equipment Marketing says.
