The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), Washington, has announced that Mike Rowe, the host of the long-running television series “Dirty Jobs,” will be headlining the Closing General Session at the organization’s 2017 convention, which is scheduled for April 22-27 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

Throughout his career, Rowe has done hundreds of jobs, including working in recycling. During his time filming “Dirty Jobs,” Rowe worked 300 different jobs across all 50 states, ISRI says. He has narrated hundreds of documentaries about space, nature, dinosaurs, serial killers and how stuff works.

However, ISRI says there’s more to Rowe, including opera singer, executive producer and philanthropist.

According to ISRI, “This presentation promises to be thought-provoking, energetic and humorous,” as Rowe shares “the lessons he has learned as a perpetual apprentice about work ethic and the jobs that make civilized life possible.”

Rowe will speak during the Closing General Session, which is scheduled for April 27 from 9 to 11 a.m.
