Metro Group Inc., a metals recycling company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, has continued with its ongoing growth plans by purchasing the assets of North American Recycling Inc., located in Nampa, Idaho. The acquisition of North American Recycling will give Metro a larger presence in the state.

“We have a great deal of respect for North American Recycling founders Mike and Maria Ressler, and have always been impressed with the business they have built,” says Mark Bond, CEO of Metro Group. “When they decided to sell, we felt it was a great opportunity for us because our cultures aligned so well. Mike has a great reputation and we know this will be a great fit.”

Founded in 1999, North American Recycling is a full service ferrous and non-ferrous processing yard with an emphasis in industrial and commercial recycling. The company’s service area includes southwestern Idaho and eastern Oregon.

“I’ve done business with Metro for many years and always found them to be very professional and honest, says Ressler. “I’m happy for the opportunities this combination will provide to our employees and customers.”

All current employees of North American Recycling will continue as employees with Metro Group.

Metro Group has eight facilities throughout Utah, Nevada and Idaho. Additionally, the company has a trading office in Missouri.
