The Washington, D.C.-based Plastics Industry Association says exhibit space for NPE2018: The Plastics Show has sold-out for the first time in show history during its recently concluded “space draw” process. The association describes NPE as its “triennial, international plastics manufacturing exposition,” which will be held Orlando, Florida, May 7-11, 2018.

The Plastics Industry Association says it will continue working to accommodate exhibitors still awaiting booth assignments, and that it can offer “limited availability in several of the Technology Zones” of the exposition hall. Additional exhibit space could become available in the coming weeks for potential exhibitors who were not slotted during space draw, says the association. “Applicants unable to secure booth space on the exhibit floor will be contacted in order of Space Draw pick in the event of changes or cancellations,” says the group.

“We anticipated NPE2018 would break the record we set in 2015, but it’s incredible that we exceeded our numbers during Space Draw, a full 14 months ahead of NPE2018,” says William R. Carteaux, president and CEO of the Plastics Industry Association. “The industry leaders and decision makers who come to NPE2018 actively seeing new technology solutions will absolutely find them among our diverse, bustling exhibit halls.”

“The growth of the global plastic industry and manufacturing within the past few years has been encouraging and we are optimistic for continued progress,” says Masato Mori, vice president of exhibiting company Canon Virginia Inc. “Because of this trend, we made the decision to expand our booth space for NPE2018 to ensure we’re at the center of this international hub of innovation and discovery.”

NPE2018 is expected to draw more than 65,000 people from many different plastics industry sectors, say the show’s organizers.

The Plastics Industry Association, formerly known as SPI, says it represents nearly 1 million workers in the $418 billion United States plastic industry.
