<![CDATA[Schupan & Sons Inc., Kalamazoo, Michigan, has announced the addition of Andy McKee as president of Materials Trading.

“We are extremely enthused to have Andy McKee join the Schupan team as we prepare for an exciting future,” says Tom Emmerich, chief operating officer of Schupan & Sons Inc.

McKee began his career in the recycling industry for Cincinnati-based David J. Joseph Co. (DJJ). In this role, he was responsible for scrap sales and purchasing from DJJ-owned yards, as well as third-party accounts.

In 2009, McKee joined Evermore Recycling, a joint venture between Novelis, Atlanta, and Alcoa, New York City, as a senior buyer based in Nashville, Tennessee. As a member of Evermore Recycling, McKee procured used beverage containers (UBC) from U.S. and international accounts. He transitioned into a full-time role with Novelis in 2012 and moved to Atlanta to work directly from the company’s corporate office. In 2013, he assumed the role of recycling manager, where he oversaw a team of buyers responsible for the purchasing program that exceeded more than 1 billion pounds of aluminum scrap annually.

“Andy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help Schupan & Sons’ continued growth in the recycling arena,” says Marc Schupan, CEO of the family-owned business. “I have known Andy for a number of years and have developed a great deal of respect for him. He will be a strong cultural fit for our company.”

McKee was born and raised in Middletown, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2000 with a degree in political science.

Schupan & Sons is a third generation, family-owned metals and plastics business specializing in industrial and electronics recycling, metals and plastics fabrication and distribution and beverage container processing. The company has 15 facilities in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.
