TRI Pointe Homes Northern California introduces cardboard reuse program
<![CDATA[San Ramon, California-based TRI Pointe Homes’ Northern California Division has announced the launch of its “Think Outside the Box” program, a community reuse and recycling effort to help new homeowners recycle moving boxes during their move.

The launch of the new program will be rolled out across all 12 of TRI Pointe Northern California’s currently active for-sale communities. The company says “Think Outside the Box” complements LivingSmart, its comprehensive program that includes the design, development, construction and ongoing operation of high-performing homes that provide healthier, more comfortable living environments while lowering operating costs. LivingSmart includes five specific areas of advancement: EarthSmart, HealthSmart, EnergySmart, WaterSmart and the recently announced HomeSmart.

“LivingSmart is about the health and well-being of our homeowners as well as the planet, and that commitment is always expanding,” says Jeff Frankel, division president, TRI Pointe Homes Northern California. “We have a steadfast passion for improving the quality of life for our homeowners and the ‘Think Outside the Box’ program helps us achieve that by reusing and recycling moving boxes to create less waste.”

The “Think Outside the Box” program was designed to help reduce the amount of waste associated with the moving process, the company says. To participate in the program, each new homeowner is given the location of the pick-up/drop-off point of the recycling center in his or her community to pick up boxes. Once the homeowners have used the boxes, they can break them down and return them to the community recycling center for the next homeowner’s use.

“The ‘Think Outside the Box’ program is a simple but powerful way for homeowners to contribute to reducing the carbon footprint by using less materials and less waste. We’re excited to see how our buyers use it and the positive impacts it will have on our communities,” adds Frankel.

TRI Pointe Homes Northern California designs, constructs and sells single-family homes and condominiums.
