Columbus McKinnon announces staffing changes

Manufacturer of tire recycling systems and shredding processing equipment Columbus McKinnon (CM) Corp., Sarasota, Florida, has announced changes to its sales staff.

Richard (Rick) Colyar, sales manager, will retire from the company at the end of 2017, while Tom Schroeder has joined CM as director of sales and marketing, effective May 3, 2017.

Colyar has worked at CM for more than 34 years. He has held numerous positions at the company, including the role sales manager for the past 22 years. Prior to assuming that role, Colyar was the first customer service manager for the company and, prior to that, a field service technician. He will continue working for CM Shredders on a part-time basis after his retirement.

General Manager Charlie Astafan says, “Rick has made an immense contribution to CM, and we will miss his everyday involvement in the company. We are extremely pleased that Rick has agreed to continue working part time and that our loyal customers can still depend on his advice.”

Prior to joining CM, Schroeder led the North American operations for a large German company. CM says his more than 30 years of experience with material handling, screening and separation, sorting and size reduction and his mechanical background will be assets to its customers. The company adds that Schroeder’s process knowledge, experience and passion will serve the CM’s customers and future clients.

Schroeder will focus on customer loyalty, sales and expanding markets, especially for CM Shredders new line of hybrid shredders.
