Stadler says its high-capacity ballistic separator achieves record sales

Stadler America LLC, Colfax, North Carolina, says it has sold 33 of its model 3000 high-capacity ballistic separators since the machine was introduced three months ago in response to customers’ requests for a unit that offered higher capacity.

Stadler America LLC is the North American office for Stadler Anlagenbau GmbH, offering sales, service, parts, project management and engineering to the North American market.

Stadler 3000 ballistic separators are 3 meters, or nearly 10 feet, wide. The machine’s unique design required extensive testing and precise engineering to properly balance and structure the wider unit, which is ideal for replacing fiber/container star screens in single-stream applications, according to the company. The unit also can be combined with Stadler’s advanced trommel for complete 2D/3D material separation in new single-stream systems.

As with all Stadler ballistic separators, the 3000 eliminates wrapping and greatly reduces the cleaning and downtime associated with other types of screens used in the recycling industry, the company says. The unit also can be stacked or used in sequence for applications that have even greater capacity requirements.

Stadler, which originated the ballistic separator, says it has sold nearly 1,000 of these machines worldwide for applications that range from single-stream to municipal solid waste to commercial and industrial recycling.

With an engineering-driven approach to solving customer challenges, the Stadler team has designed, built and implemented hundreds of recycling plants globally. The company introduced the ballistic separator to the recycling industry in the 1970s.
