American Zinc Recycling names new CEO
<![CDATA[Pittsburgh-based American Zinc Recycling LLC (AZR) has named Rodrigo Daud as its new chief executive officer.

Daud is a respected international metals executive having most recently served as chief commercial officer of Votorantim, a Brazil-based metals conglomerate, and chairman of its wholly owned Houston-based subsidiary U.S. Zinc, says AZR. He presently is serving a term as chairman of the International Zinc Association. His appointment is effective July 17, 2017.

“We are pleased to have Rodrigo Daud take the reins at AZR and lead our executive team going forward,” says Wayne Isaacs, chairman of the AZR board of directors and interim CEO. “Rodrigo brings a wealth of experience as a highly regarded metals executive with an impressive and broad background in the commercial aspects of the metals industry.”

With Daud’s appointment, Isaacs will continue to serve as AZR chairman of the board.

Daud says, “I am very excited about the opportunity to work with one of the global leaders in the zinc and recycling industries. American Zinc Recycling and its predecessors have been leaders in domestic zinc production dating back to the mid-1800s and in zinc recycling since the 1980s. I look forward to working with the AZR team to continue strengthening the company’s financial position, expanding the operating footprint and further growing the business.”

AZR also announced Don Sheets has been appointed to the board of directors of AZR as well as named as the chairman of the Audit Committee. Sheets served as vice chairman of Dow Corning and previously held the position of executive vice president and chief financial officer of Dow Corning Corp.

“AZR is fortunate to have Don join the board and chair the Audit Committee. His vast experience in financial, business and commercial leadership roles is an asset that will benefit the board and the company going forward,” says Isaacs.

American Zinc Recycling Corp. is a leading recycler of electric arc furnace dust. Its parent company, AZR, also owns The International Metals Reclamation Company LLC, a leading recycler of metals-bearing wastes and a leading processor of nickel-cadmium batteries in North America; Zochem Inc., a zinc oxide producer located in Brampton, Ontario, and American Zinc Products LLC, the owner and operator of the group’s Mooresboro, North Carolina, facility.
