CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs))

CEUs are awarded on a 1:1 ratio for approved CRA events and a 1:2 ratio for pre-approved non-CRA events.

Individuals registered for the full 2007 Annual Conference were eligible to receive a maximum of 10 CEUs to be applied  to continuing education requirements needed to maintain the QRP, or pro-actively toward obtaining future recognition at the QRP level if the PRQT is taken and completed within the same calendar year.  The 10 CEU's require the signature of at least six conference speakers, tour leaders, or workshop/session instructors.  A copy of your signed CEU form must be returned to the registration desk on the final day of conference or faxed to CRA's office within ten days of the last day of conference.

If you attended the entire conference and have not yet turned in your CEU form please send a completed form to the CRA and we will allocate your CEUs appropriately. You may email to Lisa Frase or fax to (919) 545-9060. You may also contact the CRA to request a total of all CEUs you have currently earned.

If you have attended a workshop or other educational session and would like the CRU to offer you CEUs please fill out a standard Continuing Education form and submit it to the CRA for review.

If you are hosting a workshop, training seminar, conference or other educational opportunity that you would like the CRU to recognize by way of offering CEUs please send a request to Kerry Krumsiek along with dates and full agenda for consideration.

PRQT TESTIMONIALS

Covers a great variety of topics, good speakers, great resource book and handouts. I think anyone in this field would benefit from this training. - Gail Thomas, OWR&R, Program Coordinator, UNC Charlotte

I've been waiting years for this - now I finally know what I'm supposed to do! - Lynn Patzig, Recycling Coordinator, UNC-A

The training has expanded my basic knowledge of solid waste management into a broader more advanced knowledge. I feel I have a better understanding of solid waste and recycling. - Jennifer Sellers, Coordinator of Recycling, Horry County Solid Waste Authority

As a new employee in the field I thought it was a thoroughly enjoyable and educational experience. It presented a broad spectrum of information with enough details to encourage further inference into into areas of interest. It also put me in contact with numerous professionals in the area, an invaluable resource ito my new position. - Isaac Nicholson, Recycling Coordinator/School Specialist, Keep Gastonia Beautiful, Inc.

A variety of information provided in a well planned and in-depth manner. - Rodney A. Conklin, Goodwill Industry of the Southern Piedmont

This is especially a great way to train new recycling coordinators and also a way to update information for not so new coordinators. - Lisa Grant, Keep Onslow Beautiful

Very informative classes to enable professionals to understand, evaluate, and improve implementations of programs. - D. Ann Gill, Mecklenburg County, Waste Reduction Specialist

The program covered an unbelievable amount of information; they explained every area of recycling. I don't think there are anymore areas they could add. I learned so much as a beginner in the field. - Jacqueline G. Ponder, Unnatural Resources Institute, President
