The Carolina Recycling Association has created a Technical Resource Guide for establishing a Household Hazardous Waste program. Coverage includes: - The planning process - Funding your program - The types of programs - Finding a contractor - Samples of RFPs; site, operation and contingency plans; and educational materials - A resource list of experienced program supervisors & contractors The HHW technical guide was created to assist people with problems and questions they have about household hazardous wastes. The guide will help correct inaccurate views about disposal prices and other industry costs. The guide will be a valuable resource to communities trying to start HHW programs by giving them the basic information such as what types of programs are out there already, what kinds of requirements are in place, and what kinds of educational materials are available.
