RecyclonomicsSC, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the growth of SC’s recycling economy, is hosting their 8th Annual Legislative Day on April 15, 2015 at the South Carolina State House. This day is a chance for the recycling industry in South Carolina to engage the State Legislature and inform them about the benefits the recycling industry has on the state’s infrastructure and economy.

Attendees will have the chance to speak to their lawmakers and ask legislators to help set policy to allow the SC recycling industry continue to grow. RecyclonomicsSC will serve lunch in room 112 of the Blatt Building at 12:00PM to the State Legislature. After lunch, attendees will have another opportunity to meet with their Senator and/or House member.

This year, in conjunction with Legislative Day we hope to introduce legislation this term that will benefit the recycling industry as a whole, including potential tax credits for recycling equipment and feedstock, equal access for recycling collection, and collection of information about business recycling plans.

These initiatives will benefit recycling companies, their vendors, and help grow the recycling industry in our state. “This is our day at the State House, when the legislature listens to what we have to say” said RecyclonomicsSC Chair, Tina Huskey.
