Collegiate Recyclers Coalition Workshop and Tour @ Southwestern Community College
Southwestern Community CollegeThe annual CRC Workshop and Tour will be held at Southwestern Community College and will highlight some of the valuable relationships and key collaborations that ensure continued progress toward effective materials management and campus sustainability. Participants will enjoy a variety of presentations, networking breakfast and lunch sessions, followed by a campus tour. Pre-registration is required and includes breakfast and lunch. If you are registering for this event, you will not be able to attend any other tours or workshops on this day.

DON'T FORGET to bring your university SWAG for exchange at the workshop, and SWAG and displays for the CRC booth in the expo hall! We want to be sure we have lots of beautiful displays in our booth this year. Transportation is own your own to this event.

Lunch and Jackson County Green Energy Park
Jackson County Green Energy Park Join us for lunch and a tour of the Jackson County Green Energy Park (JCGEP) in Dillsboro, NC, a short ride from the Convention Center on our charter bus. JCGEP utilizes clean, renewable energy resources to encourage economic development, provide environmental protection, and offer educational opportunities that together will help lead towards a more sustainable future for Western North Carolina. JCGEP captures methane gas from the old town landfill, then uses the gas as fuel for a series of artisan studios. Visit www.jcgep.org to learn more about the park. The HHW Council is here to help you navigate the world of managing and disposing of HHW in a safe and responsible way. Let's dive in and explore the best practices for keeping ourselves, our loved ones, and the environment safe from harm.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Workshop (free for all attendees)
The Cherokee Convention CenterJoin us for a very special opportunity facilitated by Jessica Levine, Diversity and Inclusion Manager for The Recycling Partnership (TRP). At TRP, Jessica leads the diversity and inclusion program. She also leads The Partnership’s Recycling Inclusion Fund work to support recycling infrastructure equity, research, and leadership development for Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities. TRP is working extensively to understand and address inequities and lack of access to recycling for underserved populations, and will be working with us to better our own understanding.
