Lunch, Learn & Network – Reconsidered Goods

Lunch, Learn & Network – Reconsidered Goods

May 21st, 2018

2805 Patterson Street – Greensboro, NC

Attendees joined CRA in Greensboro, NC on May 21st for an event all about creative reuse, selling used materials for good, and a make-and-take buffet of activities!  We heard from Madeline James, Deputy Director of the Scrap Exchange and Paige Cox, founder of Reconsidered Goods and host of the event.

Since 1991, The Scrap Exchange, housed in Durham, NC, has been collecting materials from local businesses and residents, and distributing these reclaimed resources to educators, artists, makers, and students through a variety of programs.  They even train people about how to start a reuse business of their own with their reuse Boot Camp.  Reconsidered Goods in Greensboro is a 501-(c)(3) non-profit that takes donated materials from manufacturers and individuals and helps divert them from the landfill by putting these items and materials into the hands of artists, makers, teachers and kids to create something new.  In short, they inspired attendees to make the ordinary into the extraordinary.
