Marengo, Illinois-based UniCarriers Americas Corporation (UCA) held a national dealer meeting at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in November 2016 2016, hosting dealer principals and general managers from 14 different countries.

“This year’s meeting provided information on our state of business, new product refreshes and launches, increased parts support, intuitive marketing and sales tools, smart lead generation and a refreshed philosophy on sales training,” says James J. Radous III, president of UniCarriers Americas.

The day-long convention kicked off with a general session that included presentations from senior leaders. Brian Markison, senior director of sales and marketing, shared plans for new and revamped products and introduced a new three-wheel, AC electric forklift with power steering and an automatic parking brake. Kevin Fick, director of aftermarket, announced changes to the DURA-LIFT Parts program, including a quadrupling of its distribution centers and a doubling of inventory that can now respond to more than 1 million applications.

The meeting also included smaller break-out sessions, where UCA representatives presented plans to evolve marketing and sales training support.

“We received a tremendous response when we revealed plans to launch a comprehensive dealer toolbox, [a type of] digital, one-stop shop for all sales and marketing needs,” says Jaimie Kowalski, marketing director of UCA. “Plus, dealers were excited when we presented our strategy to generate quality leads through a sequence of targeted touchpoints and segmented content.”

UCA also hosted smaller roundtable discussions, where dealers discussed a variety of topics related to their business challenges and opportunities. The roundtable discussions also provided an outlet for dealers to share ideas. The day was capped off with a formal dinner reception.

UCA, a subsidiary of Japan-based UniCarriers Corporation, designs, manufactures and supports a line of material handling equipment and has seven factory-owned locations in Wisconsin and New England. UCA also has a network of more than 130 authorized dealerships with nearly 250 locations in North, Central and South America.
