SERI updates R2 recycler directory

Boulder, Colorado-based SERI has redesigned its website, www.sustainableelectronics.org, and updated its directory of Responsible Recycling Practices (R2) certified recyclers.

According to the nonprofit’s July newsletter, its website has been visually refreshed and content has been reorganized to improve the user’s experience. In addition, a number of new features have been added, including an R2 Document Library, references and guides to relevant processes and a rebuilt recycler directory.

The “Find a Recycler” directory has been completely rebuilt, according to SERI. The directory is updated daily rather than weekly and includes information on materials accepted, recycling processes and whether the facility accepts consumer drop-offs. Users can filter or search by category and either download their search results to Excel or create a permanent link to the search that can be shared electronically, SERI says.

The R2 Document Library contains the R2 Standard and all related documents, which are available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. French and Chinese translations will be added in the coming weeks, SERI says.

The process information offered on the website includes information on how the R2 Standard is updated in accordance to American National Standard Institute procedures and information on the TAC (Technical Advisory Committee).
