BDSV conference set for late November

Germany’s BDSV, the German Steel Recycling Association, reports that its annual conference is set for Nov. 25-26, 2015, at the Maritim Hotel Magdeburg in Germany.

The association reports that this year the event has been compressed from three days to two, to provide members the maximum amount of information via lectures and workshops, while also offering networking opportunities.

The association says the event also features a companion trade show area with around 50 specialized exhibitors in more than 1,200 square meters of trade hall space.

Featured workshops include a session on fire prevention and fire detection in recycling facilities and recycling centers, and a session addressing unfair business practices and corruption in the steel recycling industry with speakers from the firm Hoffmann & Partner Lawyers Tax Consultants.

After the Annual General Meeting, regular elections and management work report, attendees will also enjoy a presentation by economic comedian Hans Gerzlich.

The meeting concludes on Nov. 26 with the traditional entrepreneurs evening, which takes place at the Fichte event center, a restored production site dating back to 1886. BDSV says this event also will feature for the first time an external exhibition of large equipment for the recycling industry.
