<![CDATA[

The California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) has opened a call for award nominations for its 40th annual conference, set for Aug. 7-10, 2016, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Sacramento, California.

CRRA says it invites individuals and companies to share programs and successes achieved by industry colleagues and peers who are “going above and beyond” in efforts to prevent waste, reuse materials, recycle, compost, buy recycled and build “green.” The association says it is its intent to praise outstanding achievers in California, publicize their successes and share successful efforts throughout the state.

The deadline for nominations is May 16, 2016. Click here for instructions and to view the new online nomination form. Winners will be announced at the CRRA’s 40th Annual Conference and Tradeshow in August.

For 40 years, the CRRA says its annual conference has been among the most comprehensive and dynamic events dedicated to sustainable materials management. Founded in 1974, the CRRA’s mission has been to provide CRRA members with resources to advance local, regional and statewide waste reduction efforts, which result in critical environmental and climate protection outcomes. Its success is due in part to a strong membership and leadership base as well as the support of industry partners, including this year’s Partner Sponsor, the Sacramento Regional Solid Waste Authority.

The CRRA is California’s statewide recycling association. It says it is the oldest and one of the largest nonprofit recycling organizations in the United States. The association says it is dedicated to achieving environmental sustainability in and beyond California through zero waste strategies, including product stewardship, waste prevention, reuse, recycling and composting. Its members work for cities, counties, municipal districts and businesses as well as hauling companies, material processors, nonprofit organizations, state agencies and allied professionals.
