Eco-Catalyst introduces SaaS for recyclers
<![CDATA[

The software firm Eco-Catalyst x, Sunnyvale, California, has introduced the Smart EOL, a software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product that is designed to bring more effective decision-making to recyclers and materials recovery facilities. According to Eco-Catalyst, Smart EOL enables the design, tracking and optimization of product end of life operations and programs for greatest profitability and sustainability.

“The biggest challenge for recyclers and MRFs is profitability in an environment of contaminated recyclables, commodity volatility and market competition,” says Ramesh Srinivasan, founder and CEO of Eco-Catalyst “With Smart EOL, for the first time, recyclers and MRFs can leverage transaction level pricing, along with cost streamlining opportunities for improved profitability.”

“The lack of reliable information is our worst enemy,” says Michael Gross of Zanker Recycling. “We operate six different recycling operations on our property, each interacting with the next. Smart EOL gives us the ability to understand how each operation contributes to our overall profitability – or not. This information has had a significant impact on our day-to-day decision-making.”

Smart EOL provides market and operational data, economic analysis and optimization algorithms that enable decision makers to achieve the appropriate trade-offs among quality, cost and risk, Eco-Catalyst says.

The product is expected to be available by the end of the end of third quarter of this year, and a 30-day no-risk trial will be available in the United States and Canada.
