Hong Kong-based Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Ltd. has added Ken Liu, the son of the firm’s co-founders, to its board of executive directors.

Liu, at 26 years old, has been appointed as an executive director and deputy chairman of the company starting in mid-June 2018. He has also been appointed as the CEO of the North America subsidiary of the company.

He graduated with honors from Harvard University and has previously served as a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the United States. Since March 2016, Ken Liu has been the vice chairman of America Chung Nam (ACN), a recovered fiber subsidiary of Nine Dragons Group. At ACN he was responsible for overseeing its corporate development, marketing strategy and general management.

Ken Liu is the son of Nine Dragons Chairwoman Cheung Yan and Liu Ming Chung, the company’s deputy chairman and CEO. Ken also is the brother of executive director Lau Chun Shun and the nephew of Zhang Cheng Fei, another corporate officer.

In the same news release, Nine Dragons also has announced that Zhang Cheng Fei has added the title of deputy chairman to his existing roles as an executive director and deputy chief executive officer. He has served in those two previous capacities at Nine Dragons since 2006. He is a brother of Nine Dragons Chairwoman Cheung Yan.

Nine Dragons Paper consumes large volumes of recovered fiber at its portfolio of paper mills in China and Vietnam. In the first half of 2018, the company acquired two integrated pulp and paper mills from Catalyst Paper, with one mill located in Rumford, Maine and the other in Biron, Wisconsin.
