PMR, a leading catalytic converter processor, has introduced a new foil recovery process that no longer requires suppliers to trim foil units.

According to the Canadian company, when suppliers avoid cutting and/or trimming their units close to the core, they reduce the chances of harming and damaging the foil units. Such damage could result in lost value and/or precious metal dust.

PMR says suppliers can cut their foil units as they would any other converter prior to packaging them for shipment. The company says it will trim and process the foil, “ensuring the highest possible recovery of precious metals.” 

PMR says it can run lots starting at one gaylord box of foil converters, offering final assay results in 15 business days.

According to the company, its process for the recovery of wash coat differs significantly from its competitors’ in that no wash coat residue is left on the shredded metals, ensuring complete precious metal recovery. 

“Our decision to improve the recovery process is paying great dividends as many large producers of metallic auto catalyst now see the value of our toll refining services,” PMR says in a news release announcing the new process.
