Plastics Industry Association welcomes new board chair

The Plastics Industry Association (Plastics), Washington, has elected Phillip E. Wilson as its board chair. In this role, Wilson will lead the 2020 Plastics officers in advancing the commitment of Plastics to serve the entire plastics industry supply chain. 

According to Plastics, Wilson is the senior manager, business intelligence and pricing strategy at Germany-based BASF Corp.’s Performance Materials business in North America. Wilson has more than 30 years of experience in the plastics industry.

Prior to his election as board chair, Wilson served as treasurer of the board and was elected to serve as vice chair of the Plastics board in 2018.  

In addition to the election of the new board chair, the following 2020 Plastics officers will assume the following roles:

• Chair: Phillip Wilson, BASF Corp.

• Vice chair: Tad McGwire, Industrial Heater Corp., Cheshire, Connecticut

• Treasurer: James Clark, Printpack Inc., Atlanta

• Secretary: Jay Olson, John Deere, Moline, Illinois

• Officer-at-large: Bradley Crocker, Americas Styrenics LLC (AmSty), The Woodlands, Texas

• Officer-at-large: Glenn Anderson, Milacron Holdings Corp., Cincinnati

• Officer-at-large: Dan Mohs, Placon Corp., Madison, Wisconsin

• Immediate past chair: Wylie Royce, Royce Global, East Rutherford, New Jersey

“I’m honored to announce the new officers and Phil Wilson as our chairman who will continue to implement the mission of Plastics,” says Tony Radoszewski, Plastics president and CEO. “These leaders bring their extensive knowledge in the plastics industry to continue to drive innovation in plastics manufacturing, advocate for our members and advance recycling infrastructure improvements.”

Wilson has been a member of Plastics’ Material Suppliers Council since 2007. He joined BASF in 1988 and has held multiple positions in the plastics industry in the fields of research and development, product management, marketing and business development.

Each Plastics officer was unanimously approved to his position and will serve a one-year term until December 31, 2020. 

Plastics supports the entire plastics supply chain, representing nearly 1 million workers in the $418 billion U.S. industry. Since 1937, PLASTICS has been working to make its members and the industry more globally competitive while advancing recycling and sustainability.
