The Brussels-based European Demolition Association (EDA) has estimated that COVID-19-related restrictions have caused project managers “to reschedule more than 50 percent of the demolition projects in Europe.”

The EDA has prepared its findings in a 74-page report designed “to analyze the impact of COVID-19 on European demolition companies” that it is releasing in May.

EDA says the report is based in part on online survey results completed by demolition companies from 18 European countries. The survey was conducted from May 6 to May 15.

“Given the social and economic impact that the lockdown has had on the European demolition industry, the EDA board has been meeting regularly to monitor the situation and support the industry, exchanging best practices and valuable information for the members,” states the association.

The report includes graphics with the information on a country-by-country and Europe-wide level, “as the situation differed substantially in each part of Europe, and even week by week,” says the EDA.

Those wishing to see the full report can do so through the EDA website.
