The Proteco division of Singapore-based Yes Full Circle (YFC) says it has officially launched “a pilot plug and play facility that provides integrated brand protection, secure destruction and closed loop/zero landfill recycling solutions” in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

According to Proteco, the facility uses “proprietary technology to provide full traceability to confirm and validate the entire destruction and recycling process.” Adds the firm, “The audit trail is stored on Green Secure, a secure blockchain platform, enabling traceability from point of collection to final end point of material post destruction.”

“We are proud to promote an honest and transparent brand of recycling in the UAE that puts brand protection, combined with a circular economy and zero landfill, as its priority,” comments Harbinder Singh, chairman of YFC. “We look forward to working with clients who share the same values and ethics.”

A launch event was attended by numerous invited guests, including H.E. Low Pit Chen, Singapore’s consul-general in Dubai. “It was indeed an eye opener for me to see first-hand the innovative solutions offered at Yes Full Circle Solutions,” says Chen. “It plays an important role in promoting the concept of circular economy in the UAE and the region. I am happy to learn of its expansion plans, which would spread the message of sustainability to more countries and people. I also see opportunities for Singapore enterprises in the environment space to collaborate with partners such as Proteco in introducing innovative solutions to this region.”

The guests received a tour of the facility, which Proteco describes as “leveraging decades of international and practical experience in recycling, security and technology to offer end-of-life product/inventory management for businesses and government entities across sectors.”

Proteco says it is the only facility of its kind in the UAE with seven different technologies designed to process a variety of materials, including consumer and industrial goods and counterfeit and confiscated goods. Proteco says it can provide both onsite and offsite brand protection/destruction services, and is capable of same-day live stream destruction.

A planned second phase of the facility involves the use of digitization, artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, “resulting in further game-changing innovation, both upstream and downstream,” says Proteco.

The company says it intends to invest in nine more facilities in the Middle East, including three in the UAE. Another YFC facility is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2021, according to the firm.

YFC says its Proteco division also has been active in India, where it has begun the rollout of tech platforms in four cities that are designed to “support circular economy ecosystem development.”
