Amsterdam-based Tradefox is holding its 4th Virtual Networking Conference Feb. 15-17, with the company saying it is aiming to connect industry professionals with each other and to keep the global trade of scrap going during the pandemic.

Tradefox and its founder Chris Yerbey say they have concentrated on methods to “make sure that trusted scrap buyers and sellers are making new connections.” Part of that effort has entailed providing traders of recyclables with what Tradefox calls independently verified information about the reputations of buyers and sellers.

The Tradefox conference platform provides “a treasure trove of information on each company attending, including their trustworthiness score, import/export history, names of trading partners, the materials traded and much more.,” says the company.

Thus, virtual event attendees are able to review company profiles containing this information before setting their one-on-one appointments.

“At a physical conference, you speak with a lot of people looking for the ones who could become that next buyer or seller,” says Yerbey. “At the Tradefox Virtual Networking Conference, you’re able to pre-screen those interactions, thus making the process of finding new business much more efficient.”

Yerbey says attendees will be offered “an array of virtual networking opportunities” from Feb. 15 to 17, including nine live keynote sessions, seven roundtable discussions and nine one-on-one sessions.

Adds Yerbey, “We are sure we have the right platform and tools available to get every attendee that new trading partner they have been looking for.”

The overall Tradefox platform includes information on more than 140,000 companies. Users also can monitor their trading partners with the Tradefox app. A report on a company or a change in their reputation score generates a notification, “so you can protect your business from any unfair trading behavior,” according to Tradefox.

“It’s great to see how many people join our platform and leave trade feedback on their trading partners,” says Yerbey, “People are getting the importance of sharing data to keep the industry safe”.
