Scrap Expo to offer material upgrade insight

Scrap Expo to offer material upgrade insight
<![CDATA[

Scrap Expo, taking place Sept. 13-14, in Louisville, Kentucky, has lined up programming designed to offer insight into the processes involved in handling and preparing ferrous and nonferrous scrap to increase its value.

In addition to live equipment demonstrations, the two-day event at the Kentucky Exposition Center will include industry veterans offering presentations on how the sorting, baling, shearing or logging of different types of scrap can yield bottom-line results, according to the Recycling Today Media Group, which is organizing the expo.

Sessions that are part of the program have been designed to offer such insight to smaller dealers, demolition contractors and auto salvage business owners include “Processing Scrap: Understanding What It Costs,” “Optimizing Scrap and Dismantler Yard Operations” and “Specifying the Right Attachment.”

Recycling Today Media Group says podcasts being hosted on-site during the two days also have been designed to offer helpful operations insights. That includes a Wednesday, Sept. 14, recording of the “Pile of Scrap” podcast, hosted by John Sacco of Sierra International Machinery. Sacco’s guest will be Jay Robinovitz, CEO of multiple-location scrap processing firm Alter Trading.

James R. Keefe, publisher of the media group, says, “We’re proud of this programming and hope attendees will benefit from it. We’ll also provide plenty of free time for them to explore our indoor exhibit hall and then take a ‘test drive’ at our outdoor demonstration arena. Attendees can move, cut and prepare scrap in real-time and view live demonstrations. Nearly three dozen equipment and service providers have signed on to be part of the event.”

Early-bird registration for Scrap Expo is available through July 15, with registration information found on this web page.
