Wisetek, an Ireland-based provider of advanced information technology asset disposition, data destruction, technology reuse and manufacturing services, has opened a facility in Northborough, Massachusetts. The 42,000-square-foot facility will provide information technology asset disposition (ITAD) and IT-related services.

According to a news release from Wisetek, the new facility is fully operational and offers bespoke services, such as remote employee services, repair and mobile hard-drive destruction shredding. The site also will service some of Wisetek’s client organizations throughout the United States, including multinational and nationally based businesses.

Additionally, the Northborough site will store stock from the company’s Wisetek Market e-commerce business, which gives consumers a channel to buy high-quality refurbished equipment. The company says it ensures that items listed on Wisetek Market undergo a rigorous assessment process to determine suitability, during which hardware is thoroughly tested. Any existing data on devices sold on Wisetek Market are wiped, and the equipment is refurbished as necessary before it is certified to be listed and sold at the site.

“Wisetek is incredibly proud to announce the establishment of this new facility in Massachusetts, which will enable us to grow our presence in the region,” says Sean Sheehan, CEO of Wisetek. “This development speaks to the rapid growth of Wisetek and the ITAD sector as a whole, as more and more organizations are realizing the importance of implementing fit-for-purpose processes in this area in order to ensure security, compliance and sustainability. … This new facility demonstrates Wisetek’s continued investment to address the growing global demand for our services.”

Wisetek says it aims to grow the Northborough site and increase its contribution to the local community. The company currently has 200 employees in the United States with the goal to grow to 300 employees in the country. Wisetek has additional facilities in the U.S., including in Austin, Texas; Winchester, Virginia; and Sacramento, California.
