Environmental waste and recycling services provider Quest Resource Holding Corp., The Colony, Texas, has announced the hiring of Brett Johnston as its senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective Nov. 1.

Prior to joining Quest, Johnston, 46, spent nearly 20 years at Dallas-based construction engineering company Arcosa Inc., where he most recently served as the senior vice president of the company’s Construction Products Group and led a team of more than 50 employees in accounting, finance and information technology. During his tenure at Arcosa, he led the implementation of new accounting and finance systems and processes within the company’s fastest growing segment.

In addition, Quest says Johnston played a key role in Arcosa’s merger and acquisition (M&A) strategy, contributing to target development and screening, as well as overseeing teams responsible for due diligence and integrations.

“I am excited to welcome Brett to Quest as our next chief financial officer,” Quest CEO Ray Hatch says. “Brett is a talented, results-oriented leader with extensive financial strategy, systems and M&A experience, all of which are of vital importance in maintaining our reputation as a service leader and driving growth and continuous improvements in our profitability and returns.”

Johnston holds an MBA from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Science in economics from Texas A&M University.

“I look forward to working with Quest’s management team and being part of a rapidly growing company that serves a critical need to help large companies improve sustainability in a cost-effective manner,” Johnston says. “With its compelling customer value position, asset light business model and established national platform, I see significant opportunities for profitable growth that will continue to benefit from advantages of scale.”
