The Plastics Industry Association, Washington, has announced that registration has opened for NPE2018: The Plastics Show, the association’s triennial, international plastics manufacturing exposition, which is scheduled for May 7-11, 2018, in Orlando, Florida. This is the show’s third consecutive time in Orlando.

The show organizer says NPE2018 will draw more than 65,000 professionals from all segments of the plastics industry and its related vertical and end user markets. NPE2018 showcases emerging technologies, materials suppliers and processors that will shape plastics, combining the full array of services, equipment, suppliers, resources, sustainability, innovation, education and opportunity, the Plastics Industry Association says.

“NPE2018 is the leading forum for plastics industry leaders to share ideas and see the next generation of innovation and technology driving the plastics industry into the future,” says William R. Carteaux, president and CEO of the association. “We’re excited to welcome the leading minds in plastics to a contemporary, interactive marketplace for five days of active learning, high-powered collaboration and unparalleled discovery.”

The exhibit floor includes a number of new features:

  • Bottle Zone – This area is a resource for companies that work with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) preforms, molds, labeling, filling, closures, design and inspection equipment in bottle and container manufacturing for beverages, pharmaceuticals, home products and personal care. Supporting partners include PETplanet, Drinktec and ISBT. Educational tracks will be included in this zone.
  • 3D & 4D Zone – This area allows exploration of the trends and technologies behind three- and four-dimensional prototypes, mold components and finished parts.
  • Re|focus Sustainability & Recycling Summit – This event provides recycling professionals access to equipment, supplies and processors and brand owners seeking sustainable solutions for their businesses. This will be the third annual summit but the first to be co-located at NPE2018.

The Plastics Industry Association previously announced that exhibit space for NPE2018 sold out for the first time in show history during the association’s Space Draw. Show management says it is working to open additional exhibit space. Space applicants not assigned during Space Draw will be contacted in order of Space Draw priority to select space when available. NPE says it also is accepting new applications.
