Shortage Supports Higher Recycled LDPE/LLDPE Film PricesBy PetroChemWire May 16, 2016 Source: PetroChemWire Tighter recycled LDPE and LLDPE film grade pellet supply contributed to roughly a 3.5 cpp rise in prices since the beginning of May. Last week, offers for LDPE were at 39 cpp and LLDPE at 41 cpp, both FOB Southern US. LLDPE’s premium to LDPE was higher than typical due to LLDPE supply constraints. Some repro end-users opted for blended LDPE/LLDPE film, done at 40 cpp FOB Ontario, Canada. In the prime market last week, LDPE film sold at 53 cpp railcar FOB Houston for export to Mexico, with other buying interest discussed at 50-52 cpp. For a free trial to PCW’s Weekly Recycled Plastics Report or Daily report on prime resins monomers and NGLs visit the PetroChem Wire website at www.petrochemwire.com.
